Following a successful stint at SK Beveren, Marink Reedijk is now in the running for the position of head coach at Royal Antwerp FC. The Dutch interim manager has ended his contract and started looking for a new destination early on. Since May, the club has been without a permanent main coach, with interim player-manager Tim Bakens overseeing it.

Technical director Marc Overmars of Royal Antwerp FC and former Dutch national coach is now focusing on Reedijk. The new training quarter is without an end-liable person for over six months, making it difficult for the club. Reeman is strongly considered alongside Raf van Marle as a possible replacement head coach.

Following in the footsteps of a series of previous Dutch head coaches – Joseph Oosting (ended his tenure on 10 May), Andries Ulderink, Mark van Bommel (2 seasons) and also Overmars himself at various times – Royal Antwerp looks to further its relationship with Dutch football. With the title in 2017/18, there is a chance that Reedijk can impress club audiences again with his on-field methods.

If this transfer comes through, it will make Reedijk the third coach after Overmars who has won the league at Royal Antwerp: Ulderink and Van Bommel also took home top honors for the club.
