The Jupiler Pro League clubs are preparing for the new season with various friendly matches. Antwerp played a significant role in these preparations, but lost its last friendly against Millwall in London.

Friendly Ahead of New Coach's Watch

Antwerp had the chance to show what it could bring on the field before Marvin Compper was appointed as the new manager. The German ex-player of Celtic sat with 2000 fans in the stands, likely a sign that he is the favorite for the job.

The match started well for Antwerp, but Millwall eventually pulled back and scored the only goal of the game after the break via Cooper. The Great Old lost 1-0 on a pitch belonging to the London club.

Interim-coach Faris Haroun also saw Ibrahim and Tsunashima fall injured, limiting his plans for the new season. Antwerp will play another friendly against Leyton Orient on Sunday before the competition starts.

Other Jupiler Pro League clubs also held several friendly matches, including Standard, KRC Genk, and Zulte Waregem. The results of these matches will help prepare for the upcoming season.
