Royal Antwerp Football Club, commonly known as Antwerp, is the oldest professional football club in Belgium, founded in 1880 in Deurne, Antwerp. The club has played its home matches at the Bosuilstadion, nicknamed 'The Hell of Deurne-North', since 1923. At 18:15, Antwerp will host STVV Sint-Truiden in a special match, wearing a unique retro-match shirt designed in collaboration with kit sponsor Stanno, inspired by the style of the early 20th century. The shirt will be worn with a red short and horizontally striped red and white socks. The club has a rich history of rivalry, particularly with local rival Beerschot, and has competed in numerous city derbies with 'The team of the city' as the prize. Antwerp was the first Belgian club to reach a European Cup final in 1993 and has been a member of the Club of Pioneers since 2016. After years of fluctuations in performance and a period in the lower divisions, Antwerp recently found its way back to the top of Belgian football. In the 2022-2023 season, the club won both the Belgian Cup and the league title. The club's colours have changed over the years, but the red and white colours have always remained an important part of the club's identity.
